…”I’m late, I’m late, I’m late”…Just like the White Rabbit! Sorry for posting the 2 last Green Smothie recipes 4 days late!! I didn’t forget, I just had a busy weekend and an incredible Monday! But here I am with Green Smoothie n.5, and I’m sure you’ll love it: it’s creamy and fresh and loaded with, minerals, antioxidants and Vitamin C!

Pineapple is the main ingredient of this delicious drink, and this tropical fruit has many virtues:
– Pineapple is the only major dietary source of bromelain. Bromelain has anti-inflammatory properties, making it useful in the treatment of sport injuries and the pain caused by them. It has the potential to act as an effective cancer-fighting agent. Specifically, claims suggest that it works in unison with chemotherapy to suppress the growth of cancer cells.
– The vitamin C in pineapple juice may also help to protect against heart disease. A number of studies show that higher vitamin C intake causes a decrease in the risk of coronary heart disease. Also, like cancer, heart disease risk is reduced with a high-fiber diet.
– Pineapple helps to build healthy bones. They are rich in manganese, a trace mineral that is needed for our body to build bone and connective tissues. Just one cup of pineapple provides 73% of the daily recommended amount of manganese. The benefits of pineapple can effect the growth of bones in young people and the strengthening of bones in older people.

1 cup water
2 handfuls spinach
1/3 banana, peeled
1 cup pineapple chunks
1 cups frozen mango chunks
1/2 cup frozen mixed berries
(stevia – optional)
Place spinach and water into your blender and blend until mixture looks like a green juice. Stop blender and add remaining ingredients. Blend until creamy. Enjoy!!
